"I didn’t set out to write about organizational change. I was navigating a profound personal loss while continuing to lead a team that depended on me. Along the way, I began to see how many of our systems ask leaders to separate their humanity from their effectiveness—and how costly that expectation can be, not just for the leader, but for the team and the organization as a whole.
What became clear was not a lack of resilience, but a lack of structure. There were few systems or processes designed to meaningfully support leaders, teams, and organizations through grief and loss. That realization sparked a goal: to help develop a more intentional, practical approach—one that allows leaders to be supported without lowering standards or compromising performance.
I’m not just an executive who experienced grief. I’m someone who chose to acknowledge how it changed me. In doing so, I discovered a different kind of strength—one rooted in clarity, continuity, and care—and one that organizations can benefit from understanding and supporting."
